August 21, 1952 - October 26, 2013

Ellenville, NY.

Joseph F. Vesely, of Ellenville, formerly of New Windsor, entered into rest on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was 61.

Son of the late Joseph F. Vesely Sr. and Shirley (Buyl) Vesely, he was born August 21, 1952 in Newburgh. He married Agnes Connor Gath Vesely on August 31, 2013 in Ellenville. Agnes survives at home.

Joseph attended Washingtonville High School, and was a retired heavy equipment operator/foreman for the Town of New Windsor Highway Dept. He served as Vice Commander for the American Legion Cook-Taylor, Post 111 in Ellenville; was a lifetime member of the New Windsor Fire Department, where he was also member of the Benevolent Association; and was an honorary member and photographer of Scoresby Hose in Ellenville.

Dad was an avid fisherman who loved nothing more than spending as much time doing so with his "little buddy" Tyler and being a loving "Pop-Pop" to his precious Maddy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Agnes, he is survived by his children, Shelly Vesely and her companion, Scott Pryne of Cornwall-on-Hudson, Lori Chapman and her husband, Jeff of Walden; former wife and mother of his children, Gail Hand Vesely of Napanoch; siblings: JoAnne DeFini of Schenectady, James Vesely and wife, Debra of New Windsor, Dennis and wife, Jenny of New Windsor, Peter and wife, Lisa of Walden, Theresa Gardner and husband, Edwin of Gardiner, and Gerald Vesely and wife, Tina of Shohola, PA; cherished grandchildren: Tyler DiLello of Cornwall-on-Hudson and Madison Chapman of Walden; and many cherished nieces and nephews and cousins. He is further survived by his best friends, Charles "Chuck" Hunter, John Farrenkopf, and the original members of the "Dirty Dozen".

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29th at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30th in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh, with burial following in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, New Windsor.


Leroy W. Stanford

July 9, 1928 - November 1, 2013

New Windsor, NY

Leroy W. Stanford of New Windsor, a retired employee for Town of New Windsor, Highway Dept. passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Campbell Hall Health Care Center. He was 85.

Leroy was the son of the late Walter and Margaret Stanford, and was born on July 9, 1928 in Newburgh. He was a life member of Quassaick Fire Dept. of New Windsor, and an Army veteran of World War II and Korea.

The family would like to thank the first floor nursing station at Campbell hall Health Care Center for all the care they gave him.

Leroy was predeceased by his wife, Rosemarie E. Stanford. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Baxter and her husband, Daniel of New Windsor; one son, Walter E. Stanford and his wife, Deborah of Norfork, VA; five grandchildren: Christopher, Scott, Sean Baxter, and Walter and Allyssa Stanford; one brother, Vernon Stanford and his wife, Irene of New Windsor; one sister, Marge Padavano of the Town of Newburgh; one sister-in-law, Bertha Traver, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Leroy was predeceased by one sister, Linnie Masten.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, November 4th at Hudson Valley Funeral Home Inc., 239 Quassaick Ave. (Rte 94), New Windsor. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5th, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
